Lockdown: What the governments new rules mean for basketball

As anticipated, following the vote in parliament today, Basketball England have released a statement which can be read in full using the following link:

Summarising this statement, from Thursday 5th November, all non-elite basketball (training & competitions) must stop for the duration of the lockdown and we move back to level 4 in the return to play guidance. Following feedback from the government, U18 premier is no longer deemed elite and therefore must also move to level 4.

Basketball England have taken the decision that they will suspend the 2020-21 season until early in 2021 for all leagues / competitions. As and when the country returns to the governments tiered restriction system, they will reassess the situation.
